Welcome to the website of the RFU Injured
Players Foundation
Created in January 2008 from an amalgamation of the Rugby Football union Charitable Fund and the RFU IPF, the charity exists to support players who become seriously injured playing rugby union.
We receive funding from donations from players, clubs and the Rugby Football Union itself.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support rugby players of all ages and abilities who receive long term or permanent serious injuries whilst playing or training under the auspices of the Rugby Football Union.
Our Key Aims
Working in collaboration with the RFU, clubs, schools and statutory and voluntary agencies, the RFU IPF will:
- Support the immediate, medium and long term needs of seriously injured rugby players
and their families / dependants.
- Provide appropriate financial support and advice on medical, welfare, social and financial
matters to injured rugby players and their families.
And it may also:
- Support research into more effective treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of serious
rugby injuries.
- Promote education of players, coaches, referees, schools and clubs to prevent the
occurrence of serious rugby injuries.
- Support fund raising and other income generation activity in furtherance of the work of
the Trust.
